Hmmmm, I don't know. I'm actually giving up on the painting the way I was doing it. Just wasn't happening the way I wanted. BUT I am still changing the color. I don't know what else I need right now but we can always work something out. I'm easy...

Ran great, but needs an allignment and the fuel gauge is WAY OFF! It'll probably run out of fuel while the gauge still tells me there is half a tank in it.

Even just primered in black, the Phoenix is almost worthy of being in the St. Patrick's Day parade.
But chances are, we'll have new paint on it before then.

Trying hard to get it done

Had this same problem. I hear it's common w Fieros. Probably the float. WhoDeanie fixed mine first try.

There is actually a thread on Pennocks about this issue. It involves removing the sending unit from the tank and sanding the resistor that the metal piece on the float arm opposite the float slides up and down on. You can use your ohm meter to check different spots. I believe 90 ohms is full, and 0 is obviously empty.

A little tip for the issue with the gauge showing way over full.
I waited until Anne had driven a lot of the tank empty (about 3-4 gallons left in the tank).
I then went and found an empty parking lot and started driving serpentines and circles, hitting the brakes occasionally for about 3-4 minutes. This causes the floater to move up and down rapidly and it substitutes cleaning the slider portion of the floater. While this may only be a temporary fix, her gauge is now almost accurate again nonetheless.
I actually came up with this fix all on my own, as I was just too lazy at the moment to drop her tank ;D

But to my embarassment, after reassembling the Phoenix, Anne complained that she gets no warm air when she turns on the heater. Turns out I forgot to put in the airduct behind the dashboard, so I now have to take out the entire dash again  :(
