Windows 10 running in S Mode
« on: October 17, 2019, 12:35:20 am »
Hopefully GTRS Fiero or TopNotch can chime in. I recently bought a small Acer laptop that can convert to a tablet that I really enjoy. It comes from the factory running Windows 10 in S Mode. All I really know about that version is you can only download things from Microsoft. I can opt out of "S MODE" but if I do I can't ever go back. I want to install winALDL as recommended by GTRS Fiero but can't without opting out. Is there a good reason to stay in S Mode?

If you have a Windows 7 laptop, you may find it easier to use the ALDL adapter with that.  I had problems getting the adapter to acquire in Windows 10.
