The Market / WTB: TH440 Fiero compatible governor assembly
« on: May 28, 2015, 11:28:11 am »
I got my Fiero back today from the shop with the TH440 transmission in it. My speedometer is not working because I need a Fiero compatible governor assembly for the TH440. Going to try to find one locally; however, I'm reaching out to the Fiero community for help.

Here is a link with information on the swap and what I need:

Took my Formula to Meineke to have a TH440/4T60 transmission put in. Rich, who own Meineke, has a couple of Fieros. He'll be putting it in sometime this coming week. I can't wait.

Decided not to convert my 88 Formula to a fastback. So, I'm selling everything listed below all together for $500. Please note that I do not want to ship or sell items separately. I am located in Lexington, SC.

Fastback panel from an 87 GT, purple in color
New clear OE style GT quarter windows
GT decklid, purple in color, wing is not included
GT quarter window filler panels
Left and right GT tail lights, in good condition

I will add pictures later this week. I have this listed here and on Pennock's.

Started to replace the outer window seal. Bought the universal ones from JC Whitney. I'll post some pictures of how they turn out once I'm done. Here is the part that I bought:

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Not running after driving a few miles
« on: October 25, 2014, 08:09:31 pm »
Ok, started this afternoon with replacing the heater core on my 88 Formula. I now have heat. I then decided to get gas and see how the Fiero is doing after doing a tune up and replacing the kickdown cable. Got on the highway and Fiero seemed fine, even though when I slow down and give it more gas that it doesn't seem to have power right away. So, I'm headed home, and decide to stop by Little Caesar's pizza. Get into medium to turn left, and the car stalls when I come to a stop. I'm able to start it back up, but when I put it into drive or reverse, it kills the motor. Luckily a local police officer stops, blocks on coming traffic, and with another guys help, pushes me out of the medium and into Food Lion's parking lot. I call a friend who is on his way to tow me home. I'm a mile away from the house. Called wife and told her that I'm going to get AAA next payday, especially since I don't trust the Fiero on the road yet. I try to start the Fiero again, but this time is hesitates and dies versus running like it did before. I've had a service engine light on. How do I go about reading the service engine light? Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / S10 brake booster?
« on: September 24, 2014, 08:51:21 am »
I've read a little bit about changing out the brake booster. Someone was telling me that all you have to do to install it was hammer the firewall some. I've been trying to find some information on that. Can anyone confirm? What year, part number, etc, S10 brake booster can I use? Anything else I should know if I do this mod on my 88 Formula?

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Coolant temperature gauge
« on: September 18, 2014, 07:20:42 pm »
I replaced my oil pressure switch today. Yeah, my oil pressure is reading correctly. However, since doing so, I noticed my temperature gauge is stuck at about 1 o'clock position on the gauge. Any thoughts as to if I have to take the dash apart to get the temperature gauge to work again. I disconnected the battery in hopes that would get it to drop back down, but no luck.
