I wonder if this car was going to one of the Elliott's in Dawsonville?

I am wondering about the cause.  Several articles, but no info on the cause.

It would seem that having that much weight that high would make the load very top-heavy.  In theory, that is the correct position, but I'd want a full load.

A car that expensive should have been in an enclosed trailer.  Still would have been crunched in an accident.  Probably didn't want it getting dropped on by trailers hydraulics. Always wanted a grabber blue 1970 boss 302, this one was special.  I painted my 67 fastback grabber blue partially before it was sold many years ago.  Loved that color for some reason.

The markings on the PD vehicle is Mountain Park.  If in Georgia, there is Mountain City on US 441 just north of Clayton.  There are no exit ramps of that nature up there.

Mountain Park, Ga. is between Roswell and Woodstock, off Hwy 92.  There are no similar-appearing roads in that city, either.  All surface streets.  It couldn't have been within 20 minutes of being delivered to Dawsonville.

My guess as to what happened, judging by the 2 pictures that show either end of the exit ramp, is that he was either running too fast, or he suddenly decided to take the exit, again, speed being a factor.

Whatever the cause, it is disappointing for car people to see a classic such as this totally destroyed.  Hope the buyer already had it insured and that the transporter has sufficient insurance, too.

...and all that insurance still wouldn't replace the vehicle.

There is also a Mountain Park in western Gwinnett County. Mountain Park Park (a park in Mountain Park) is near the south western end of Five Forks Trickum Road.

Is it an incorporated city?  That would be a little out of the way between Rochester, NY and Dawsonville, unless he had other cars and the Mustang would be the last drop.  I've heard of a Mountain Park area or community in or very near the City of Stone Mountain.

According to Wikipedia, it's an unincorporated, census designated place (whatever that is).

The first pic shows a 4 door Dodge dually with the car on the trailer but his loading ramps are still down so maybe he loaded more cars before he left. The truck in the wreck pic looks like a Ford or Chevy 4x4 and you can see the Dodge dually all smashed up. In one of the other pics there is a Ford truck sitting up on the road overheating.

It is weird about the location of the wreck. Mountain Park, Georgia doesn't have a police department, they contract with Roswell Ga.

The same seller has a cool Pontiac for sale. I guarantee you haven't seen many of these. Scroll down to the bottom right of the page.

That car along with its Chevy cousin were two of the ugliest cars GM ever made.  The other two were a big bulky sedan and wagon shared by Chevy Nd Cadillac.  I think they were the same platform as the reborn Impala SS.

Is that a Pontiac version of the NASCAR aero Monte Carlo?
