Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Re: Speedometer correction
« on: December 18, 2022, 08:22:57 pm »
Strange, when my 85 was new, I had the speedo checked for accuracy. According to the dealer, it was dead on as delivered from the factory. ( all stock, 14 in wheels). Today , I know it reads slow due to running the 15 in lace wheels or the 16 in spoke wheels that I have.

General Fiero Discussion / Re: Keeping it, still?
« on: February 07, 2020, 09:33:24 am »
I was 24yo and stationed in West Germany when the Fiero came out. I had been reading everything I could find that was written on them at the time. At the time , I was driving a 70 914. Met a new owner of a white 84 2M4 at the PX on day and after talking to him, decided to wait til the 85's came out to order 1. So, after the announced the 85 with the V6 engine upgrade, I went in at the end of Feb. , ordered my 2M6. Yes, it has been a lot of work to keep. I have very few complaints about my car.  Mostly , its family members who ask why do I still have a 2 seater when I need a bigger car. I tell them I dont need a bigger car, they just need to drive their own.

General Discussion / Re: ABS comments
« on: February 05, 2020, 06:05:35 pm »
Like all these supposed safety devices, they were ment to save lives and cut damages. For the un-educated drivers it might work. Airbags killed a lot of people, ABS brakes have surely added to that body count. All the "safety features" do is add cost to the price of the car, I have yet to see an insurance company drop rates for any of them. And the new features they are introducing, auto braking and slowing the vehicle when a sensor detects another car infront of you, they can keep that ^%!) also.

General Fiero Discussion / Re: Trailer Hitch
« on: January 27, 2020, 11:23:09 am »
The Fiero is rated to tow 1000 lbs. I have towed my KZ 1000 LTD which weighs about 600 lbs. My trailer weighs about 125 lbs. My 85 has no problem towing this at highway speed.
