Outstanding! I'm happy to hear that it's found its new home.

This picture was taken just shortly after the car was delivered.  Looks like they've already delved into it.  The headlight is raised so they've at least powered it up.  Looks like they may have washed off the layer of dust that had accumulated over the past 7 years.

I met one of the students from the high school at the Oreilly’s next to my house today. I had pulled in the Fiero go cart I’m building and even without the skin he knew what it was. He said they’re excited to have the 86 SE  to work on. By the sound of it some seeds may have been planted for some future Fiero owners. Will be cool to see another one riding around Dallas when they get it running.

The president of the auto shop class already has a Fiero.  He and another class member were at our meeting, yesterday.

So, do you have the body panels off yours?  What are you doing to it?

Someone at work was going to do a frame off on his 85 gt 4 speed but lost interest halfway through the project. He emailed me offering to me free if I would take it that weekend otherwise he was hauling it to the scrapper. Lots of parts had been lost and there was just too much to fix or replace to make the car presentable. It did have several cosmetic parts that were better than what I had in my 2m6 (steering wheel, radio bezel, armrest, window glass, etc) so I swapped those.

Just needed a fuel pump and a new battery to get it running.  Decided to make a street legal  dune buggy / go cart out of it. Used this as my template:

Looks just like this including color but no lights on top and I didn’t remove the dash or hood. Weight at scale with a full tank of gas is 2300 lbs.

That is alright.  Only thing I would have done is to keep the doors to make it winterproof.  ScottB has a similar one, except it was really Baja'd due to having been run over the left rear with a cement truck.  Built 3.1 with headers.

Plan is to weatherproof using clear vinyl and riveted snaps like a golf cart. If it doesn’t work out I’ll just park it for winter. I have three other two seaters with doors that have been driven very little since spring that need some exercise.

When is the club and school going to get together on the project car?  What's the current status of the project car?
