John C., the Body Man
« on: July 17, 2019, 08:40:40 am »
Some of you were at the meeting, this past weekend, and heard the discussion regarding John C.'s hospitalization.
His procedure was performed Monday. (One carotid artery was 90+% blocked. The other was fine.)
I finally talked with him yesterday. He sounds like his old self. He hopes to be released today or tomorrow. We shall see.
I also told him he needs to quit burning the candle at both ends. He does that a lot.

I talked with him late last night.  He's been out for a couple of weeks, but he hasn't regained his stamina.  He's not back in the shop, yet.  His partner is doing most of the work.

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Well, glad he's out.  It is amazing how draining something like that can be.  Probably 8 months to a year to get back where he was.

John called me back on the 18th but when I answered, he didn't say anything.  I called back and he didn't answer.  I just figured it was an accidental call.  Haven't heard from him.

Butt dial.  Someone keeps calling me whenever they're in the bathroom.  Not what I want to hear.  So, I reject his call, text him, and ask if he is in the bathroom, again.  He almost always insists he didn't call me, but sometimes wants to know how I knew he was in the bathroom.

I talked with John today. He's back to burning the candle at both ends, but has slowed down just a bit. (He's not trying to burn it in the middle, too.)
He's back at work at Grady, repairing ambulances, and doing his shop stuff, too. I even have a (small) project that he's working on, when he has the time.
He said that today, he "wasn't going to do anything".

Edit - I got a butt-dial from him a couple of weeks ago, too. His phone has been acting up.

Glad to rear that he is doing better.

I'd like a day of doing nothing.  How do you get one of those?
