Well that didn't take long.
The car is sold to a fellow in Carnesville. I mentioned numerous times that he needs to get in touch with the GA Fiero Club. Hopefully he will!

How do you keep your '85 looking so good?

Any Fiero-care tips?

I bought it 10 years ago with 76k miles on it, it has 81.5k right now. It doesn't get out much. I don't want it to rot!

I may be interested in a partial trade for certain items: motorcycles, guns, guitars, ... etc.

The fellow you chatted with in the parking lot was Rich. He is the man I bought the car from. He bought it from the original owner in Wisconsin in 1990 with about 34k miles on it then. I bought the car from Rich about a year before he passed away as he was selling off the items that he knew his wife didn't want to deal with when he was gone.

Rich was a good man. He had quite a history as a Johnson Outboard mechanic, and he was one of those original, crazy, high speed boat racers from the late '60's and early 70's. He sure had some stories.

Here is the link to my 85 GT. I was trying to post it here first but I couldn't get any pics to post.

It has been a while since I've made it to any runs or meetings but some of you know this car. I really need to make the space for my very first vehicle that I owned that I recently re-acquired, my '74 CJ 5. The jeep needs to be restored and the GT is taking up the space and funds that I need for the project.

Im asking $5200 for it but I would happily take $4500 from any Fiero club folks. I would love to see it go to a good home. I'm near Dahlonega but I would be happy to meet wherever necessary for some one to view it and drive it. Message me or call or text me at 706-892-8166 if you have any questions or want more photos.

Thank you all!

Steve

I haven't yet received any registration information.

I am interested. It shouldn't be a problem to break free for that afternoon!

Count me in.

Can you bring it to the Warrior Project Car handover in Augusta?
Maybe someone will be interested if we display enough Fieros.

Please don't put a For Sale sign in the window at the show.  But feel free to hand out contact cards and talk to people.  Usually a very friendly group.

I will be in PA that weekend so I cannot make it to Augusta. That would be a great event to be a part of though!

I am not in a hurry to sell and I won't be sticking the car on the side of the road with a sign on it. If I can make it to a future club event with it I will. I will keep it on this forum and Pennock's and I might go to Craigslist later. (and I will post more pictures as soon as I have time to figure it out)

The Market / '85 GT for sale

Well, I'm finally doing it and seeing what interest there is with my 1985 GT. For those of you who've seen it I think you'll agree, it's a nice survivor and needs nothing but someone who will give it some opportunity to enjoy it. I haven't driven it since the Boy Scout Car show last year, other than to town a couple of times to keep things limber.

I bought the car from a friend who bought it from the original owner in 1990. I believe it had about 36k on it when he got it and it has 80k now. He put the whale tail lid on it and I still have the original luggage rack lid if the new owner wants it. He put an aftermarket cd player in it, I do not have the original stereo. It's always been garaged since at least 1990.

The good:

-Paint shines nice.
-Interior is nearly flawless.
-Original R-12 A/C works very well.
-80k miles
-All four tires have good tread.
-front hatch/spare tire area looks like new inside.
-engine bay very clean and unmolested.
-original owners manual and maintenance guide
-No known leaks or mechanical issues. Touch the key and it starts immediately!

I did recently put in a new clutch master and slave cylinder so the 4 speed shifts very well now.

The bad:

-Passenger side sail is cracked but intact.
-Minor paint chips on the front.
-All tires are the same size but two different brands. (not very noticeable)
-the wheels are original and have clear-coat issues. (again, not REAL noticeable, but probably the weakest part of the car in my opinion)

If my pics don't take for some reason you can see the car in this thread, fourth pic down: http://www.gafiero.org/bbs/index.php?topic=1839.0

I have lots of pics on my phone that I can text or email if folks are interested, just let me know!

I am asking $5500 for the car. It does come with two extra stock wheels and brand new tires. They are 195/70/14 (I think), close to the actual size of the original tires so they will do in a pinch.

Feel free to call, text or email me with questions. 706-892-8166

Thank you!

Any chance of meeting Sunday? Where are they located?

I am interested in the tires and wheels if you still have them. I had to replace two of those 14" on my '85 GT and I couldn't find the exact size without paying big money!

Do you have pics you can send me or are they the ones posted previously on this thread?

You can call or text if that's easier. 706-892-8166

Thank you.

Gretchen and I had a great time and a nice drive Saturday. It was a pleasure chatting with those that we shared some shade.

As you could probably tell, the '85 GT doesn't get out very much and it was fun to stretch it's legs a little. (and confirm that the A/C still works well!) Life has kept us busy and the car in the garage mostly. As I mentioned to a few of you at the show, I am contemplating selling the car. Thankfully, it isn't a need to sell as much as it is a desire to see it go to someone who may be able to appreciate it and enjoy it a little bit more than we have been able to this last year or so. If there is an interest let me know. I will probably post it on Craigslist but not until I have a little more time to be at home. The next two months have me coming and going too much to respond to every wacko on CL who wants to trade for their '86 escort and bobble head collection.

In the mean time, if we can make it out with the car again to an event we certainly will. Unfortunately we will be out of town for the next RFTH.

Thank you for all of the compliments. The car was looking good and it was a joy to see so many others of its kind in one place. Hope to see every one again soon.

I'm not sure we can make the run Saturday but I think we can join you for dinner at the Smith House.

Hope to see you there.

We are planning on meeting you along 365 near Duncan Br. Rd. about 9:30. I do need to be back home around 5:00pm so we will probably head back a little earlier than the rest of the GA crew.
