General Discussion / Need your prayers for Mrs. FieroFool (Mel)
« on: August 08, 2014, 09:57:18 am »
I won't go into medical details, but Charlie's wife, Mel, went into the hospital last Wednesday and is in Critical condition.

Doctors have sedated her heavily (unconscious) and have her on a ventilator.

FieroFool will, of course, not be at this Saturday's meeting, but should have a medical update for us by then.

Please keep Mel, Charlie and the whole family in your prayers!

Best,

FGTB (Tim)

Survey: Pontiac owners have most car sex

August 1, 2014
THE ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION
By George Mathis

The Pontiac brand of automobiles may be dead, but there’s a chance you know someone whose life began in one.

A new survey conducted by online retailer CouponCodesPro.com, which probably uses the same methodology as Gallup, says more people have had sex in a Pontiac than any other make of car.

The company, which sells adult toys and lingerie and seems to be very nosy, asked its customers questions about their sex lives. Amazingly, almost 3,000 people were willing to share their secrets.

More than half (59 percent) of those desperate souls said they have had sex in a car.

What I am calling the “Smokey & The Bandit Effect” must have powered the maker of the iconic Trans Am to this poll’s top position.

Eleven percent of respondents who did not have access to a home and a bed said they have had sex in some form of Pontiac.

I am going to go out on a limb and say Pontiac owners have the most car sex. But hopefully no one gets busy in a Vibe, which sounds like something CouponCodesPro might sell on its website.

Runner-ups in the car sex survey included Sex Toyota (9 percent), Ford (7 percent), Chevy (6 percent) and Honda (5 percent).

Other disturbing data from the survey includes:

28 percent of those who admitted to having car sex said they lost their virginity in a car.
31 percent said they had sex in car unexpectedly.
26 percent said they had sex in a car because they wanted to do something risky.
22 percent said they had sex in a car because they couldn’t have sex at home.
46 percent said the car was in a parking lot during sex.
19 percent said the car was in a driveway during sex.
4 percent said the car was going down a major interstate during sex.

OK, I made that last one up. That would be a little too risky, unless the Snowman and Fred are running Smokey interference.

Between Mrs. Chevelle and the Fire Marshal, I have been ordered to clean out our closet of all cleaners, waxes, polishes, spray paints, tire shine, engine degreasers, engine detailers, etc. that have somehow multiplied three-fold in that dark spare bedroom closet.

I'm going to bring everything to the Saturday, May 10 meeting and put in on a deep discount sale -- so bring cash, and not much of it!

Specifically, what will I be bringing?  I dunno... show up and find out... ;- )

The Market / Three-O-Eight replica for sale
« on: April 09, 2014, 02:52:09 pm »
Those of you who know my car, know that I've had just about every improvement short of a full paint job or engine swap done to this great 86SE-based V6 5-speed ... so, why would I want to let it go?

Because I've had an uncontrollable itch to take a trip on the Wayback Machine back to my misspent youth...  and have decided to sell it and build a clone of the 1975 Dodge Colt GT just like I used to race Back in the Day.

So, if you or someone you know might be interested in the Three-O-8, please contact me via PM or at Lousmarbles(at)gmail-dot-com and I will be furnish an extensive flyer documenting all features, improvements, history, price, etc.!

It went on display for sale at last weekend's C&O show where I got one firm offer right on the spot (just too low, sigh!) and one, "I'll come by this week and take a closer look" (haven't heard from him yet).

I have offered to gladly serve out the remainder of my term on the GFC board this year even if the car sells before the end of the year... that offer currently is under consideration by the board and officers.

Best,
Fiero GTB

General Discussion / I'm mounting a posse!
« on: December 28, 2013, 10:53:57 pm »
I'm mounting a posse to track down and string up the yeller-bellied cur who done stole my bank card number yesterday.

My bank called first thing this morning to report some suspicious charges to my card overnight.

No, I wasn't at a EuroRail ticket kiosk in Fornebu, Norway at 10:46 am buying a $724 ticket to the U.K., where I then purchased some cosmetics on-line from the Shau Kei Wan district of Hong Kong, and still had time to make it back to my hotel room at the Budget Suites in Kentucky USA less than one minute later.

Of course, the bank had to put a stop on my card, and I can't order a new one until next Thursday because I have to go in and sign a paper attesting that I didn't make these purchases and my branch (inside the building where I work) is closed M-T-W of this coming week.

I asked the woman at the Fraud Investigations department who called, that, if they caught the person, would they be willing to extradite him back to Atlanta, so that I could kill him personally.

She had a great sense of humor and replied, "I suppose you'll have to talk to your local branch manager about that, sir."  At least, I think she was kidding...

So, who's up for a Fiero road trip: Norway, to the UK, to Hong Kong, and back home through Kentucky?

Seriously, folks, watch your cards and be aware of people around you.  I have a pretty good idea who got my number, and when, so if it proves true, I will invite y'all to the hangin'.

General Discussion / Trip to Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater
« on: October 22, 2013, 04:06:57 pm »
Ms. Chevelle and I are headed to Florida Weds Oct 23 - Weds Oct 30.

One place I plan to check out (just for giggles) is a replica car shop called Bob's Classics in Clearwater.

http://www.bobsclassics.com/

Anyone have any Fiero-related info I can gather from any other shops, etc. in the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area while I'm there?

I also have to stop by the Friendly Fisherman restaurant in Pass-a-Grille to make good on some sort of an unpaid tab left by some Fiero Fool a few months ago...  ;- )
