Automatic transmission upgrade inquiry

With my 88 Formula 3 speed automatic transmission, I would like to change it out and put in either a 4, 5, or 6 speed automatic transmission with overdrive to allow my wife to be able to still drive the Fiero, and to take the Fiero on long road trips. Any suggestions on what would fit and out of what car, and that would also keep my installation costs down with me having to pay someone put it in?

Ok, just did some looking and found an article on a 4 speed automatic with overdrive.

Before i saw your link I was thinking maybe the 4T60 non-electronic transmission might be a good choice.  The article says that the 4T60E can only be used with an engine originally mated to it, but I think people were piggybacking the two ECM's with the electronic version.  Anyway, the non-electronic will give you an extra gear and overdrive.  The gearing is probably better through the primary gears, too.

Thanks! So far, after reading the link, I'm also leaning towards the 4T60. I think I'll stay away from the 4T60E, so that I won't have another ECM.
