RFTH 27 Scouting Run
« on: March 21, 2022, 10:12:49 am »
A one day scouting run will take place on April 23, starting at The Dillard House, Dillard, Georgia.  We will end the run in Weaverville, NC, and return home the same evening.

Starting time will be 9 AM, Dillard House Restaurant, 768 Franklin St, Dillard, GA 30537
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Our starting point for the run was planned for The Dillard House, Dillard, Ga.  For anyone joining us on the scouting run this Saturday, may I suggest that we meet at the Tennessee Baptist Church, Dillard, Ga?  It's located at 895 Franklin St, Dillard, GA 30537  Every time I've been to the Dillard House Restaurant, it was very difficult to find a parking space.  The church is nearby and has a large parking lot.

If you turn into the entrance to The Dillard House and travel to the stop at the intersection with Franklin Street, you would turn left on Franklin and the church is immediately on the left.

9 AM Departure Time and we will immediately make a fuel stop at our first turn.

If you are coming, bring your radios if you have them.  I need to know by Friday how many so we can print route sheets.

I'm planning to go pending knee and back pain not being too bad.

Turns out I won't be able to go. Going to a birthday party for Jon.

Jason and I had a blast.  It was a little slow in the first half because we were on some of the major roads and traffic held us up.  The second half is where it really got interesting.  A few Porsches caught up to us and we pushed a little harder than we normally push in the September event.

After a dozen miles or so, I pulled over and let them go after Jason.  I believe he said they never caught up to him.  I later passed them in a roadside stop on The Rattler.  They later showed up where we were doing our last fuel stop in Burnsville.
