All Banjo Rods were the same length.  The only difference was the size of the bushing hole where it attaches to the pedal.  I'll give you a measurement later tonight.  Right now, I have to go to a meeting.

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I couldn't remove my banjo rod from my MC, but measuring from where the rod changes to the ball end, all the way back to the extreme end of the banjo was approximately 6 1/4 inches.

The newer Getrag slave pushrod is shorter than earlier slave pushrods because the slave mounts closer to the release arm.  The difference in the early and later version master cylinders is in the location of the reservoir and the fluid line connection.  How does that length compare to the length of the one you have?  The measurement I gave you was of late version.

If you think about it, the master mounts in the same location against the firewall, whether it be early or late version.  The pedal has to sit at the same height and travel the same distance.  I just don't agree that an adjustable pushrod really does anything since hydraulic systems have no adjustment like the old mechanical cable or rod actuated clutch systems.  Ideally the pistons of the slave or master should be near the back end of the bore when at rest.  That way they get maximum travel as the clutch disk wears down, without bottoming out in the other end when the pedal is pushed all the way to the floor.

the measurement is approx the same.  the p.o. got some things switched around and i wanted to be sure I've got the correct parts to work with...  I've got it going now. i think part of my problem of the clutch not releasing completely was 1. rust on the flywheel, 2. air in the system, 3. banjo installed upside down, 4. bent clutch pedal.  i corrected all these items and was able to take many victory lap around the neighborhood last night! feels good.
