The respiratory "crud" that's going around.
« on: December 14, 2018, 02:16:29 pm »
Regarding this latest version of "The Crud™" that's going around... It can be nasty. If you catch it, don't mess around with it. Go to the doctor.
I know of at least two people who have died, in the aftermath of this stuff. One was a work acquaintance of several years, the other a lifelong friend of a friend. And that's just in MY close circle.

How long does it last?  What are the symptoms?

It varies. I had a very sore throat. A bad, "non-productive" cough. A low grade fever. Sinus congestion. Laryngitis.
Now that I've completed one "Z-pak", I still have a bit of sinus (routine for me) and a dry, semi-non-productive cough. I'm still coughing up a bit of "color".
I can tell I'm getting better, because I don't really seem to have a fever, and I'm getting cranky about not feeling better than I do.

Thank you. I shall.
This was more posted as a warning to others.
If you've got this stuff, go to the doctor. You quite probably don't have what it takes to fight it off by yourself, with OTC meds.
