Started a mini car...
« on: August 06, 2012, 07:43:18 am »
I started a mini car using 4-wheeler parts. More progress has been made since these were taken: I'll take more & upload them soon.
BTW; if anyone has a very small steering rack I could use one. Needs to be around 12" eye to eye, 2 turns lock to lock, & have around a 4" throw.

Paul, I'm not positive but I think Club Car golf carts use a rack and pinion steering.  Check with Sandy Creek over on 98 or the Commerce Country Club and see if they'll let you look at a cart.  They might even have an old unit you could get to refurbish.  Club Car is in Augusta so you could easily get parts.

BTW, I didn't see any pictures.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Hm... The exhaust outlet looks strangely familiar... ;)

Nice work, lucky you guy are allowed to drive it on the roadways
We here need to put new projects thru an engineering inspections costing over $12000
but if the project car was home built it would NEVER get on the road because it has not been crash tested
