What part of Georgia are you moving to?

Thomasville is a small airplane hop away.

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

You will find a lot more accurate and current info on-line.  Will you be leasing or buying?

Lawrenceville is about 15 miles from me and Douglasville is where Raydar and Aerodonamic live.  Both are good areas with lots of conveniences nearby.

Around the Lawrenceville area, you have Grayson, Loganville, Snellville, Buford and Dacula (Duh-Q-Luh).  Very decent areas with no less than a half dozen major malls close by.  Getting into Duluth and Norcross or Lilburn puts you closer to more crime.

Others around the Atlanta area can guide you for their areas.  From what know of Douglasville, it's a good area with little crime.

Only reason I ask is that I think you'll do much better with more current info on-line vs. the paper booklets they give away at restaurants, etc.

I didn't realize that you were looking in Douglasville. It's where I live.
There are quite a few houses for sale around here. Depends on your price range and where you want to live. ('burbs? farm? etc.)
Some neighboring cities are Hiram, Dallas, Villa Rica, Carrollton, etc.
It really depends upon where you plan on working.
I drive into Atlanta every day. Just under 30 miles. My best time is ~40 minutes. My worst is twice that long. Compared to other parts of town, that's quite good.
There's a big mall about 10 minutes from me if that's important to you.
The Alabama state line is about 40 minutes away, out I-20 west.
