Driving home in the right hand lane I'm being (nearly) tailgated.  A few miles down the road I get in the left hand turn lane and the guy passes me on the right with a big smile and a thumbs-up.

I guess so.  I took him for a short drive, then let him drive it back.  We talked for a bit.

I was driving along, being a good citizen, when I saw a police SUV at an intersection.  As I passed in front of him, he stared at me, ans slowly lowered his sunglasses.  I drove on by.

Home HVAC is being fixed today.  Repairman & his wife are doing the work as I'm writing.   She saw my Fiero in the driveway and said, "NICE!".

Interesting.  His wife must be mechanically inclined.

This has been a good Fiero day.  Went to Diablo's for dinner and there was a note on my car:

"Very nice car.. message me on facebook" followed by the name.

I was chatting with them later, she had a mega-HP Camaro.  Thought she said 750HP.  Decided my ears were clogged.

She should bring it by.  Your eyes aren't clogged.

Isn't one of the newer Camaros somewhere around 700 HP?

I have Melissa's old Santa Fe stored at my house after their HOA said no vehicle could be parked in the drive for more than 24 hours.  She has it for sale and this afternoon a lady, her Father and Brother came over to see the SUV.  The Father and Brother only glanced at the Santa Fe and spend the better of the half-hour salivating over my Fieros, especially the yellow 86.  Glad it was almost dark so they couldn't see all the flaws.

It always makes me feel good, when people appreciate my Fiero, and the work I put into maintaining it.  I'm sure most of us ferl that way.

I had to run down to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription refill and I drove the yellow 86.  My pharmacy is in one of those grocery store superstores.  Kroger, to be precise.  Like most grocery stores and WalMart, they have large crosswalk areas in front of the entrances.

As I approached the crosswalk area, I had to stop for the continuous line of people entering and exiting.  About the time they would stop from one direction, here would come a bunch from the other, so I had to sit and wait for at least a minute.  One lady, upon exiting, spotted the car and took a sharp left and headed for me.  I swear she took enough time walking around the front and alongside to have filled out a car show check sheet.  Big smile on her face.  As she passed by, that big smile of hers transferred to me as she said loudly "I just love it"!

Then as I passed that entrance, there was a sidewalk burger vendor about to put a meat patty on a bun.  He stopped dead stroke and watched me as I drove by.  Made this dreary overcast day really brighten up.

One day last week, an MR2 Spyder pulled into the turn lane next to me... very slowly. I could tell he was checking out my Formula. We had our windows down, and he said, "I always wanted one of those 'back in the day'".

Monday of this week, as I was walking to my car to go home, my boss' boss (who's only been here a couple of months) was walking through the parking lot, and said, "I wondered who that Fiero belonged to". Turns out, he's a big gearhead. We talked cars & motorcycles for about 20 minutes. He thinks I should turbocharge it. He also has a track car. A Volvo. Station wagon. Turbocharged. AWD. Lowered with aftermarket wheels and an LSD. And I thought *I* had an unusual car.
