Received a compliment from a guy in the Rock City, GA parking lot.  Told him it's an '88.

His wife replied, "Now I feel old."

To make her feel better, you should have told her that she looked well preserved for her age.

Took the van for service at a garage we've never used before.  To run errands after drop-off we used my wife's 2011 Mustang convertible (Manual transmission, V6 -- only 305 hp -- dark red, no mods, pretty).  The guy in the garage commented about it.  Same year as his GT350.  We all chatted for a while.  He'd driven to Michigan from Georgia to buy it cuz he always wanted one.

Easy to tell he likes cars.

We returned later that day with my '88 Fiero GT (Manual transmission, bright red, no visible mods and -- as you shall see -- prettier than my wife's Mustang :).  When we arrived the guy and one of his mechanics came out to look at my Fiero.  Examined the engine, checked out the frunk and interior.  Lots of compliments.

My wife and I have a continuous competition about which vehicle is better.  Her's or mine.  After we left the garage, I had to point out that they liked her car, but they came out to see my Fiero!

Does anyone else take their Fiero out?

Went to the Savoy today and was immediately descended upon by eight people who had to examine my '88.  One asked if it was for sale.  Replies, "Not really, but if I'm offered enough, it can be bought".

I haven't had eithr of mine out in a while.  The 86 has developed coolant leaks at the radiator cap, the coolant recovery cap, the thermostat cap, and somewhere around the water pump.  New water pump, radiator cap, thermostat cap, or recovery tank cap didn't stop any of them.

The 87 is undergoing surgery on it's nerve system.  Congratulations on the admirations.  Well deserved.

How is it possible replacing all those items didn't stop the leaks?

I've been driving my Fieros on shopping errands, etc., because my grandson has moved in with me, and has been taking my SUV to work. I may have to let him drive the yellow Fiero so I can have a vehicle that can carry cargo. Hopefully he will make enough money at his new job to buy a car some day.

Every time I drive my Fiero to the gas station/convenience store, nearest the house, invariably, someone will comment about it.
"What is that?"
"Don't see those any more."
"Nice car!"
...

Really surprising.

Took my Fiero to the shop for a check-out and oil change before RFTH.  They're excited whenever they see it, although -- until yesterday -- they only saw it when we were picking up/dropping off one of our other cars.  One of the mechanics jokingly offered $500.  I laughed.  And laughed...

Yesterday I had to run into the fringes of Atlanta for a few hours.  On my way back, coming up Peachtree a car pulled up to the right in the turn lane.  The driver yelled out "Hey, Nice.  I like that."  An older small car with popup headlights, too.

Then as I was bringing my granddaughter from school, a car fell in behind me as I turned at an intersection.  He followed me for a couple of miles and turned into my subdivision behind me.  As I made my left turn to my house, I looked in the mirror to see if he was actually following me, but as he continued through the intersection, he had his arm out the window giving a thumbs up.

Tonight I went out to dinner with the family.  As I was backing into a parking space, I noticed two men and a woman in the next parking lane watching me. When we got into the restaurant, my son-in-law told me that one of the men was so intent on looking at the car that he stumbled off the curb and almost fell into the parking lot.

After a good meal and visiting, I was about to get into the car to leave, a man and two women were approaching their vehicle two cars over from me.  They all changed directions and started a conversation about the car as they walked around it, making good comments. That just added to the pleasure of dining with my kids.

Maybe they noticed that it is a C8 prototype.

That's possible with the first three.  They saw the back of the car as I was going up the lane before I backed in.  The second group approached from the front.
