looking for a basket case
« on: January 21, 2017, 09:59:30 am »
Hey Yall, I am looking to do a new engine for my car (01 3100 SFI) and need a car to do the engineering on. I need this to be as cheap as possible (free is best) since it will not be put back n the road. I dont care if the front is wrecked, most body parts are gone etc. An 85 SE or 86Se or 86GT will be the easiest for me. It can be rusted too. Must have the engine cradle.

Thanks, Scott

We have a bunch in this area, from $400-$800.

How about whatever is left from the Joel project?

for what I need that is a bit too much. I need a test car to do the engineering for a 3100 transplant.

If you want to come help me cut up an '86 parts car with the sawzall, you can borrow the rear section for a while. ;-)

and the victim has been located and obtained. Might be a couple of days before my wrecker drivers and my schedules mesh to get it to my shop.

It doesnt matter, a tree fell on it before i got it. As a result the roof is crushed. Once I get the shop cleaned out and can move it inside I want to put together a work day to strip it down. Most parts will be up for grabs. Do you want in on it?

did you see that a month ago I asked you to call,
I need that engine or at least the Top End. I didn't know you went on vacation, I am running out of time. 2 month's to go.

Doubtful I'll be able to help with that, due to distance.  I just don't like loose ends.   I'd forgotten all about this, but saw someone was looking at this thread, and wondered what happened.  Sometimes, the project gets completed, but the relevant thread isn't updated.
