Why are these holes there?
« on: April 28, 2017, 07:59:01 am »
In the trunk, what is the purpose of these oval holes?

It occurs to me that, when I cut the trunk out of my first Fiero, I didn't make holes like this.  I just welded plates together.  IIRC, that top piece is just an angled piece of aluminum.  No holes.  I didn't know there were supposed to be holes, so I made it nice and solid back there.  I'd figured that those areas rusted away.

Well, my aluminum replacements were much thicker.  I wonder if they're going to be a problem for the new owner.
