She said there were lots of homeless people by Peachtree Station.  She was amazed at the variety of colors of the building construction (grey concrete is used there).  Also, the quantity of liquor stores was new to her (not common in Muslim countries).  Somewhere, she found a long escalator that went way up a tunnel.  The frequency of abandoned warehouses was new to her.  I'll post more pics shortly.

She covered a lot of territory.  I think that long escalator is in the MARTA transit station.  I don't remember which.  Maybe the Five Points station which was very near The Hilton.  The North-South line goes underground up on the north side in the Brookwood area and doesn't emerge until the south side of the downtown area near West End.

Yeah.  I didn't post most of her pics, but I think she had a good slice.

I told her to give us more notice, next time.

Now that there are no imminent club things happening down there, my turn--but not for a few days.

Michael, you have to tell us what time to meet you at The Diner.

For information on our get-together with GTRS on November 3, see the new thread in Club Events.

My brother will be delivering a truckload to an Aldi, outside Atlanta.  Leaving Virginia, now.  I had no idea there were Aldi stores there.

There are quite a few of them. Heck... we even have one, out here in the boondocks.

I bought a TV dinner at an Aldi store once -- Salisbury steak. When I cooked it, I found that the steak part contained only gravy. That was the last time I ever bought something at Aldi.

At least you got gravy.  I bought one at Ingles, microwaved it, and when I removed the seal, the Salsbury Steak was less than a quarter inch thick, had no juice or gravy in the compartment, and had the consistency of dried leather.  The mashed potatoes was just a small hard lump with no moisture.  Maybe it was freeze-dried and I should have soaked it in water before cooking.
