Here's a flyover of the path.  Rabun Gap, Nacoochee School and Dillard House are dead center.

One of Melanie's former co-workers lives in Blairesville.  She said that Norwegians had rented out the whole Brasstown Valley Resort in preparation for viewing the event.  I'll bet that everything up there will be jammed up  Probably won't be able to get into the Dillard House or anything else.

If we were going to be in town, we would invite you and the club to come up to our place to watch it.  It is coming right over our house and lake, but we will be in the Dakotas at the time and will miss it.

Hey, Harry (and Karen).  Bummer for you, but knowing you will be gone, we just might show up there, anyway :D

Good to see you posting again.  Hope you're back in time to join us for this year's RFTH.  We're supposed to have some Solstice and Sky Club members and some Triumph Club members join with us.

We have made a change in plans and will be here for the eclipse.  At my age (78) we did not want to miss it as we may never have a chance to see another.  If you or any of the club members want to come this way I can supply a parking area on the grass by the lake but you will have to bring your own chairs and refreshments.

My understanding is that if you're directly in the path, you'll get the full eclipse and can see the corona.

From what I am told, the sun will be almost directly overhead. From the area that the cars will park there is a wide open view in all directions, with no trees. If the coordinates would help I will take my GPS down tomorrow and post them.

I'd surely like to see this, but beginning August 7, our little granddaughter starts her first day of school.  I have to pick her up at 3:15 every day except Tuesday and Thursday.

The schools are delaying release for an hour or so in many areas.  But Tegan will be starting in a private Christian School.
