I guess I spoke to soon the coupe died at least a dozen times on the way home! its just to dangerous to drive on main express ways I guess I`ll park it for now.

Don't park it for too long.  Fieros are meant to be driven.

Disconnect the battery and swap out the ECM to see if that will fix the problem.

Next thing, then is to replace the fuel pump relay.  After that would probably be the Ignition Module underneath the coil pack.  Pat replaced the crankshaft sensor but I'm not sure if he replaced the ignition module. 

For it to rejuvenate just by turning off the ignition for 5 or 10 seconds, means it's part of an electrical circuit that's breaking down.

yea its still parked. I started stripping the interior out to replace the cracked dash, took the seats out and the console. I figure I`ll fix the interior up and then get back to the engine. by the way I have a 1987 coupe 5 speed for sale if anyones interested. $1750.00

Upgrading?  Out with the old[er], in with the ”new”?

I'm glad to read that you are working on it, though.  It isn't just parked.

If you have the seats out, you might as well replace the headliner, and the carpet.  It's a prime time to treat and coat the floor.  The seat tracks could probably use a bit of attention.  Then there's the back wall.

While you have everything apart, you can dip and paint the metal brackets for the AUX and below it.  Heck, you can do the same with the console skeleton.

I usually dig all that stuff out that fell under the cigarette trays.  It's easier to replace the heater core and clean the box, too.

I know this Fiero was long since sold, but did we ever figure out the cause of these issues?

He never found the cause.  I tried to keep up with both Dewey's cars but the man who bought them wouldn't reply.  I suspect the coupe was scrapped.
