There's the cradle and the front spindles and rack, radiator and body panels.

I'd seen this one a few days ago, but hadn't made the connection.

Was at least the rear clip red at some point?

Here are pics for posterity:

Thanks for saving the pictures.  The car was medium red metallic.  Mike Barr repainted it silver on a very hot day and the paint was drying mid-air.  The finish was a flat silver.  He called it pewter.  Eagle Paint and Body, Grovetown, Ga. repainted it a Mercedes Platinum.  A stunning paint job.

Sure.  When I went through and read all the posts here, the enjoyment factor was lessened by those posts where the pictures were gone.  Sometimes, lots of text was also gone.  Maybe some day in the future, someone else will read all the posts.

I wonder what it would take to fix this car.  I just hope it doesn't get crushed.

I wonder what it would take to fix this car.

Rear clip. Rear decklid. Quarter windows. Back glass window. Engine harness and maybe injectors. Throttle and trans cables. Hoses and fuel lines. Battery. Probably most of the fabric interior pieces. (smoke/water damage).
The engine and trans are probably okay, with the possible exception of the aluminum stuff on the top. Unless it got a bunch of dry chemical or water sprayed into it.

Realistically, if you had to source all the parts, it would probably cost as much as the car is worth. Not that that matters, in our hobby.
The ideal situation would be if someone had a GT that had been crashed in the front, or was a terminal rust bucket. This would be the perfect project.

About 20 miles from me.  Thinking about visiting it tomorrow.  Since we built it, maybe I can finagle a better price for it.  Maybe Barry still wants it.

Or parts for the 3800 Formula and fastback.

Don't forget intake hose, all vacuum lines, trunk seal, trunk carpet, 3rd brake light and assembly, throttle and cruise cables, cruise servo, plug wires, distributor cap, coil, ICM, MAP sensor, EGR valve, EGR solenoid, air filter, PCV valve, oil Filler cap, alternator, dogbone, firewall heat shield, C500, fuel vapor cannister, decklid vents...yeah, lots of stuff.

The battery acid would need to be cleaned off wherever it touched.  Probably additional damage.  I also wonder about the inner boots on the axles.

Some of the steel, like the torsion springs, may have lost its temper.

Depending on water and heat, the ECU may be fried.  The interior will smell like smoke for a long time.

Nothing in the engine bay will be salvagable.  Probably in the interior either.  Just front area and body panels and wheels.  It didnt burn the deck lid so rear suspension and cradle couldn't have suffered much damage.

Don't forget ...

I didn't forget. I just mentioned the major components. All that other "melty stuff" is pretty much "a given".
Nickel-and-dime you to death.

Both sections of the roof are damaged.  All the interior is damaged except the dash, instrument and auxiliary gauge pods.  Door panels may still be good, but the seats are damaged.  Steering wheel is badly wrinkled.  The column is probably still good.

The spoiler and stands are melted.  The only portion of the decklid remaining is the portion over the trunk area.  I didn't look at the tail lights.  I forgot about those.  I couldn't tell much about the rear suspension, but since flames go upward, there may be minimal damage, maybe only needing new bushings.

There has been some surface damage to the front and rear fascias.  Paint is cracked and peeled, but no structural damage I could see.  The rear quarters, belt moldings, doors, aero trim and front end are still good.  The wheels appeared undamaged and they have decent rubber on them.  Maybe something we could put onto the 3800 Formula?

They offered the car to the club for $450.
