Manuals
« on: November 12, 2017, 10:00:08 am »
I have 3 '88 service manuals, and an owner's manual, and a maintenance schedule.

I have several sets of '86 owner's manuals, a service manual, 2 DIY books, a maintenance schedule, a supplemental book, and an owner's manual update book.

Where is the rest of that stuff for the '88?

Do those other items exist for the '88?

Yes they do.  I think I provided a full set with the Lil Duke Coupe, and we also raffled a full set at RFTH.  There may even be a set around here for the 3800 Formula.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I looked carefully at the raffle items for RFTH 22:
3 Light Sequential Turn Signal Control-New
1 Gray Performance Sound Control
1 Beechwood Performance Sound Control
1 Underdash Performance Sound Wiring Harness
1 VGC Beechwood Auxiliary Gauge Pod with Harness
1 Fiero Blvd Heavy Aluminum Street Sign
1 Hot Wheel Pavement Pounder Car Carrier with Fiero.  Unopened
1 American Graffiti 1985 Fiero GT by Motor Max
1 Pair Tyco Slot Cars
1 I Love My Fiero GT Button
1 Gold Fiero Nose Emblem  New But Blemished
1 Gold Embroidered Fiero Patch
1 Fiero Parking Only Heavy Steel Sign
1 1:18 Road Collection Fiero GT Unopened
1 88 Pontiac Product Book Fleet Edition Ring Binder with inserts.  Excellent
1 88 Fiero Owners Manual.  8 of 10 Quality.
1 84 Fiero Owners Manual and Maintenance Schedule.  Slight Cover Blemishes
1 Set of 1995 Fiero Store Product Brochures with Price List.
1 Set of 3 Fiero Owner Magazine, First, Second and Third, Fourth Quarter.VGC
1 Fiero Connection Magazine Featuring Mariana Martin’s White Horse.  VGC
1 Hot Rod Magazine March ’84 Featuring 140 MPH Fiero.  New In Sealed Wrapper
1 Brookland’s Road Test Magazine ’84-88 Fiero.  Sealed.  Excellent
1 Pontiac Road Cars Magazine, 1988 Edition.  Sealed.  Excellent
1 Gary Witzenburg Fiero Pontiac’s Mid-Engine Sports Car.  Sealed

I didn't see a supplemental, or a DIY, or an owner's manual update book.  I suspect that the owner's manual update was only for previous years, probably something to do with the recall.  I traded a full set.  I don't foresee having another '86, but I think those were hard to find.

I will accept any Fiero Manuals that are Extra's that are Not Needed by the current Owners, The more detailed the better so an owners manual would not be as Important to me as a Service Manual.  I will pay for a Manual If that Helps Early modles + an 88 would be Nice

I sent 'tech' a Pm That I can Help. Helping a Buddy from School with his 71 Road runner up in Talking Rock now as the weather Permits( It's in a Building But no weather Proofing,But does have a lift.)

Here are some interesting manuals.  Sorry about the blurry pics.

This comes in the thick version, like this, and in a 2-part version, and in a condensed version, as seen in another pic.

Of course, there are also the Spotter's Guide, and Gary W.'s book.  There is also an '85-'87 book.  It's a thin little thing.

The big thick ones are the factory service manuals, commonly referred to as Helms Manuals.  At one time we had several years editions that were donated to us.  They were sold to raise funds.  We still have an 88 edition that goes with the 3800 Formula.

The Haynes and Chilton's books were once readily available at the auto parts stores, but I've not seen any on the shelf in several years.  Usually the only place to find them is on Ebay or Amazon.

I have a full set of the 86 and 87 books that come with the cars.  I did have a full set of 85 and 86 books, too, but I included the with cars that I sold.

The picture of the red car with that strange decklid is interesting.

The 22P is an exploded parts view of the Fieros, with GM part numbers and in some cases like screws, bolts and nuts, it gives the sizes, also.  If you want a copy, I can send you a file.

1 Pair Tyco Slot Cars

There were slot cars? Who has these, & do they need a track to run them on? ;-)
I haven't gotten the track down in a long time, but once the VW is out of the shop I'd love to get back to running some laps.

We raffled a pair of Tyco slots at RFTH.  They're about the size of Matchbox or Hot Wheels cars and they do need a track.  I believe they have a double contact for power and the slot pin is only for keeping it on the track.  There was a red one and a black one.
