Day Trip To Augusta
« on: October 29, 2015, 02:30:47 pm »
Anyone interested in taking a ride along day trip with me to Augusta?  I need to tow a car to Augusta and would like to have some company to ride along.  Probably on Friday or Saturday, Nov. 7 or 8.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

What brings you to the beautiful CSRA?

Trying to be helpful: Friday is Nov 6th, Saturday is Nov 7th.  I'll let you work out the 8th  :P

Counting on my fingers.  You're right.  Friday the 6th or Saturday the 7th.  Probably will be the 7th.  Pick up the dolly on the 5th, pick up the car on the 6th and deliver it to Augusta on the 7th.

This is the gold 86GT that I had out here back in the summer.  The owner took it in to get a tuneup.  Two garages and $2100 later, it's now running on only 3 cylinders and neither garage will make their work good.  They said they don't know what's wrong.  Ron's going to take a look at it.

Out of curiosity, what was wrong?  Blown injector fuse?

Injectors severely clogged. All needed cleaned. One or two needed replaced. Man, that gold gt was cherry though. Real nice car. Untouched and factory all the way.

I don't know what ever happened to it.  He had taken it back to the garage where it had been previously when we got it.  It was to be kept inside each night but wasn't.  Someone in a bigger vehicle rode up onto the front end of it.  The left wing stand got broken.  There were footprints all over it where people had walked from the front all the way to the back of the car.  When he got the car back, he put new tires on it and was offering it for sale for $5000.  I secured a wing stand from Paul and gave it to him and that was the last I ever heard of him.
