Vin Decoder question
« on: April 06, 2018, 01:15:04 pm »

Just used our better vin decoder, http://gafiero.org/vin.shtml, and came up with this:
1988 Pontiac Fiero GT

Engine: 2.8-liter V6
Body: fastback (GM body type 97)
Number 4920 of 26401 or 2 built in 1988

WHAT DOES 'or 2 built in 1988' mean?
Red '88 GT 5-Speed, 7730ECM, 1.6 Rockers, and KEYLESS Entry!
Now with a trailer hitch for my bike rack.

Apparently, it is uncertain whether 26401 or 26402 were built in 1988.
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

Is there any way to get a date of manufacture, or which number GT built, or any other type of bizarre query - like which red GT with grey interior assembled with AC. etc, etc, etc?

John Willhoff (88 Database Guy) will have a very good idea.
He has a thread on Pennock's

Or you can email him at jwwillhoff at aol dot com.
