Think this is a FREE country?
« on: July 03, 2009, 07:51:41 am »
Have you heard the latest on obama's socialist agenda? In the new bill, IF YOU REFUSE TO BUY HEALTH INSURANCE YOU WILL BE FINED!!!!  WTF? How the hell are you going to be able to pay a fine if you can't afford health insurance???? I guess if you can't pay the fine they'll PUT YOU IN JAIL.
It's going to be where you can't WALK DOWN THE STREET without paying the government (& their co-horts - the INSURANCE CARTEL) for that freedom!!!! You will be REQUIRED to carry a health ins. card to WALK DOWN THE STREET.
I warned folks years ago about the insurance cartel getting mandatory auto insurance passed, that it was just the beginning.
A FREE country? We haven't been truly free in decades - & IT"S GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY!

Actually, the government isn't in bed with the insurance companies on the health bill.  The intent is control and reduce what insurance companies can charge, and what they can pay to a doctor or hospital, to the point that doctors and hospitals refuse their coverage and that insurance companies aren't profitable.  Then you will be forced to take government healthcare.

I just read a story about a young Canadian woman in her mid-20's who had a brain tumor.  She was given approximately 6 months to live if left untreated.  The Canadian healthcare system said that her life wasn't worth the costs of the surgery and resulting treatments, so she couldn't get the needed operation.

She came to Oklahoma and got the operation and she's now nearly 30 years old.

I've been trying to buy health insurance for years, but I can't afford it. So I do without. The only insurance that I can afford doesn't cover anything for 2 years. They don't cover pre-existing conditions just new ones. I had a kidney stone 8 years ago and they wouldn't cover anything to do with the kidney's. I had stomach problems in the past and they wouldn't cover anything to do with the stomach. I was told my lungs are bad and they won't cover anything to do with the lungs or breathing. So why should I buy their insurance?

That's like making a car payment and not getting the car.

Actually, the government isn't in bed with the insurance companies on the health bill.
One thing folks should realize (if they don't already know); EVERY politician - yes EVERY ONE - gets "campain contributions" from the insurance cartel. It's a matter of public record. It's how they pushed through mandatory auto insurance. And MANDATORY auto insurance laws that REQUIRED US TO INSURE EVERY VEHICLE WE OWN SEPERATELY. Before they insured the driver, & we could drive anything & were covered. NOW I have to buy SEPERATE INSURANCE ON EVERY CAR, even though I CAN ONLY DRIVE ONE AT A TIME!!!
I suspect MANDATORY health insurance will make the cost soar, just like it did with auto insurance. They'll make billions more than they do now, & just like now (with both health & auto) they won't have to cover anything they don't want to. You'll HAVE to BUY health insurance, even if they refuse to cover anything you're most likely to get sick from.
I had health insurance once, too. I paid on the policy for TWENTY FIVE YEARS. Then I had a minor problem. I called & they said they didn't cover it. So I asked for a copy of the policy (my mother had bought the insurance when I was younger & I didn't have a copy). When I got it & read through it, I had insurance allright: it covered UP TO $150 for the loss of a limb & UP TO $300 for HEART SURGERY !!!! You gotta be FREAKIN' KIDDING ME!!! Gee ya' think if I had heart surgery I couldn't come up with $300 to pay the doctor? WhyTF did I have this policy (& pay them) for 25 years? Did I have "health insurance"? Hell NO I didn't have health insurance! It was NOTHING but a CON by the insurance cartel!!!

God I hope not. Surely the folks here have better interests. I guess they just don't visit the forum very often.

I'm concerned.  Health insurance is unaffordable, and will continue to be unaffordable, as long as the government is involved, because they're getting a cut.

This is a free country.  The government freely takes my rights and my money.

Not only do I not have enough to pay for it, I don't make enough to Qualify for it. Thank God I lived Long enough to get Medicade/Medicare. I actually get less in SS than the Minimum Payments for  the Healthy Kids that do work,
