there's exceptions o the rule and again I have been at this for only a year or so. around 96 down chevy got the same heads on the 3.4 fwd engine as the 2.8's wether fwd or rwd. FWD cars from 3100 on got aluminum heads. block diff is starter location. I think if it's a xx00 liters number it has aluminun heads and if x.x /liters it has iron. around 2000 or just before they made a better head that is what I am after but just after that they used VVT and we don't want those
