I found this on Pennocks. Thanks to Perry Rhodan.
When the time comes to rebuild your headlight motors, the original lubricant is no longer available. Even Rodney Dickman has run out. He is supplying brake slider grease, but that lubricant has a deteriorating effect on plastic, and sometimes has oil separation problems. If you're rebuilding with metal gears, then you likely will have no problem, except for maybe the rubber bumpers crumbling.
Perry researched and found these:
Permatex Ultra Slic Synthetic Multi-Purpose Lubricant with PTFE
Dow Corning Molykote G-2001
They are synth based grease. Synthetic hydrocarbons .More stable in the long term.
Safe for plastic and rubber parts
Will not dry.
Very low oil separation.
They contains anti-friction additive that are ok with plastic : PTFE (Teflon)
