A little story about the Parts Barn... GrannyLinda's son needed a place to temporarily store some stuff, and he didn't want to use a storage place. So he came over with lumber and tools, and started building. The neighbors complained of the hammering, so I figured I'd better get a permit. I went through the process, including a site survey. Or house is in unincorporated Gwinnett county, so I went to the proper county office with the survey. Now, there happens to be a ravine behind our house, and I was told that it is a flood control ravine, and building within a certain distance from it is not allowed. The survey showed the barn extending two feet into the exclusion zone, so I told them we'd move it, and they gave me the permit. Never mind that it was already partly built, and we couldn't move it. Also, there were already two smaller sheds on the property both entirely in the exclusion zone. They didn't seem to care about those.
Anyhow, I posted the permit on our front door in case any neighbors complaining about the hammering came over, and the barn was built.
