FROM THE GEORGIA FIERO CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
The Georgia Fiero Club members are closely monitoring the situation with the COVID-19 Pandemic. As has so many cities, businesses and organizations, he City of Avondale Estates has cancelled their Easter Parade, so the members will meet at Scott Brown's shop for a work session if the conditions permit. This will keep our members out of contact with the public. Likely lunch will be ordered for delivery to reduce contact with the public.
In the meantime, use drive-thru banking and fast-food services. Use plastic money and online banking and billpay. For routine doctor appointments, consult by phone. Cancel routine dental appointments for another time.
A number of our members are within what is being defined as High Risk Age Group, so we are mindful of activities that may expose them, while still trying to find safe alternate activies to keep the club active during this difficult situation.
If at all possible, stay confined. Do not entertain any strangers knocking at your door. Lock your storm door if you have one so you have a shield between you and any outsiders. Do not let anyone into your house that you do not know. Religiously follow the health safety guidelines. Get groceries and medicines delivered if you have that service available and have it left at your doorstep.
If you don't have medical gloves, you can use old grocery bags to handle gasoline pump handles and enter pin numbers at pumps and ATM's. It may look silly, but it's safer. Dispose of the bag after use. Be creative with your safety.
