New 86 Fiero at Pull A Part
« on: April 02, 2020, 11:42:38 am »
An 86 was just placed on the South yard.

A man has contacted me this week wanting to know if any of our people could do a 3800 install and if not it was going to the yard.  I suspect this is the 86 GT.

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Sad to see so quick a give up if it is that one. Swaps are not that daunting if you just take your time and do some research.

If it is the same one, this car has been around for 7 or 8 years or more.  Some of our older members would remember a family who came a time or two with a red 86GT that the son subsequently cooked the engine.

Wow. I probably should remember, but I don't. Refresh me?

If it's been sitting for 7-8 years, it may not be worth doing a 3800 swap to it.

Were you here, with all your skill, you couldn't do a swap.  I can barely replace the washer fluid...in my own carport!

Steve, there was a man and son came with a red 86GT looking for help.  I think the son drove the GT and the parents came in a separate vehicle.  They were from down in the McDonough area.  Ellenwood to be precise.  Later, the son either ran it hot or out of oil and cooked the engine.
