Ideas for selling/donating my van?
« on: December 03, 2022, 09:20:08 am »
Good morning folks.  Looking for ideas to solve a predicament.  Our van's transmission went out while we were in Augusta, on our way to Savannah.  Had it towed to Milton Rueben Toyota where they rented us a vehicle while they looked at the van.  Turns out we'll be $6500 poorer to replace the transmission on a van we only paid $9000 for two years ago.  Bye-bye van.  Here's the problem.

Eventually (Monday?) we need to return our $60/day rental to the dealership, get the van's title in Rome (in a safety deposit box), and sell the van.  The dealer is currently offering $500(!?!) for the van.  Any ideas how we can get more, or a better disposal idea?

Thanks in advance.

Kars For Kids and there's another non-profit with a person's name (can't remember it) that will accept them.  I think you can put a stated value to the vehicle for tax deduction purposes. Of course, you must have enough to itemize to take advantage of this.

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Georgia Agape, a faith based adoption agency, also accepts car donations.
