Can somebody tell me if the muffler on the 88 Duke is identical to the one from the 1988 V6?I've looked at mine on the L4 (did not take measurements, assume pipes are 2"), and according to the P22 (which has no pictures of the 88 with dual pipes, only the singular pipes on the driver's side), they look identical.I'm asking, because nobody in Germany seems to be able to find an 88 Duke exhaust with dual pipes, only for the V6. That would be funny if they were identical, wouldn't it?

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Up & down idle 88 Duke when warm

Did the first long distance test drive with the Coupe today (+100 miles).When I got back and it had a good temp, the idle would go up and down between 800 and 1300 RPMs rapidly.Any idea?I know that since the cat replacement (when it ran rather rough and had a bad idle), the ECM has not been reset (battery disconnected). Could that be it?

Is there a way to tighten the gas cable on an 88 Duke?
Gas pedal does not react immediately when pressed. I noticed a lot of slack on the cable in the back.
Can it be adjusted?

Just noticed that my high-beams are always on.
When I pull the wiper-arm back, I hear no clicking sound, blue indicator light in the cluster stays on also.
Bad switch??

The Market / Desperate Need!!! Belt Tensioner 87/88 Duke

I am in dire need of a belt tensioner (complete) for the Duke.Can only get the pully, not the complete tensioner here in Germany. The tensioner is squeeling like crazy and fraying the belt.I will of course not only pay for the part, but also for super-duper-express-expedited-shipping. :-)

I know it can be done, but all I can find are instructions on how to do it on an 84.  However, I know the electrical wiring on an 84 differs from the rest.
Anyone have a link or a write-up?

Can somebody provide me with the correct color names for the 88 tan interior?Is it just "Tan" or "Beechwood" or something else? Need to know to order a correct color headliner kit for an 88 coupe.

Hi all ye left behind 

Just a quick hello from across the big pond. It has been almost a month and I'm glad to report that all is well here in Germany.
Anne & Shanine are doing fine and I'm having a blast at my new job. And I really really really like my company car! 
Even though I was told I would get an Audi station wagon, I got a brand new VW Golf TDI instead. What a joy it is to drive this thing on the Autobahn!!!

So, until I have a bit more time to post some pictures and give a more elaborate report..............take care.

Tech Tips, Tech Questions / Idle issues on 88 GT auto

Shanine's 88 GT developed an issue the night before she was to sell it, so the sale fell thru.
As soon as the engine warms up, the oil pressure gauge will dip into the red and the OIL light will come on. Charlie verified with a mechanical gauge that oil pressure is good. Car will idle bad once warm and stutter a bit when trying to speed up.
ICM, EGR solenoid, ignition coil, MAP sensor and oil pressure sending switch have been relaced. TCC and EGR valve verified to be good.
Any ideas? Vacuum leak? ECM?

The Market / TWO down - ONE to go!

As most know, we are moving to Germany, so everything needs to go.
Friday's estate sale was an absolute success, sold just about everything, except things I'll need until I leave, i.e. washer, dryer and such.
So we still have Anne's Phoenix and Shanine's 88 GT Auto and I have a basement full of Fiero parts. Only asking for donations on the parts. Hoods, carpets, sail panels, pods, mirrors, doorpanels (inside and out) and so much more. If still not gone in two weeks I'm having it hauled off so I can get my house in shape for sale.

BTW: The Formula went to a nice young man who came all the way from Alabama and more or less bought it sight unseen and is very happy with it! Sold it cheap too.

EDIT to PS:
The 88 GT is also sold, hence only the Phoenix is still for sale. Everyone here knows the blood and sweat that went into that car, so we don't feel we are asking too much.

No citation, just a warning.

With sadness today, I heard that Kevin's (88_4mula) father finally lost his battle with cancer.

Our hearts and best wishes go out to Kevin and his family!
