Pat Swayne, computer geek. 'Nuff said.

I used to be.  After building and selling lots of systems. I changed to Fieros.  After work, I'm done with computers for the day.

I've had an FCC General Class (broadcast) license for about 35 years (from back when that MEANT something) and, I think, a Network+ cert from about 5 years ago. I know my way around Cisco stuff well enough to do what I need to do, but don't have any Cisco certs.
Oh... and ~40 years of experience, troubleshooting electronics to component level.

The subnetting is my least favorite thing.

I don't need it often enough to be proficient at it. I always have to read back over it for a few minutes. Then it's. "Oh yeah..."

I have a bunch that I use regularly.  Most of the rest aren't that important.

The mezzanine level eating area at Schnucks didn't have a fire in the fireplace, today.  There was live music, but I was hoping for a fire.

I occurs to me that not everyone has Schnucks.

I talked to Scott Brown and Dewey Reader the other night and they are doing fine, but Dewey  had better enjoy this warm weather before he moves up north.

Local news stations were reporting that it was felt in Atlanta.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Really strange in my case. I had a dream about an earthquake last night, and then saw it on the TV news this morning. I lived in California for a while, and am familiar with earthquakes.

We had them in Okinawa.  For everything other than our operations building, the standing order was to evacuate and get into open spaces.  I've seen guys standing out in the street with just a towel wrapped around them for a loin cloth.  Even though the buildings would pop and creak and groan, I never saw any damage to anything where I was stationed.

Maybe it's like dreaming about fire.

My wife was up at the time and felt it.  It rattled some glasses on the table.  She grabbed a pen and wrote down the time.  We heard about it on the morning news.
