Looks like I'm not getting this one. She said they ran it without oil and the motors locked down, and they want $400.00 for it and won't come off the price.

The black 85 is going to be put back o the road.

I've just finished with replacing the carpet, seats, dash, console, radio, and shift surround in this car. I got it running last week but it still needs a lot of work. This is going to make a nice car.

I have an 87 engine in my 85GT.  By all estimates, the car has well over 160,000 miles on it.  The oil pressure reads about 30 lbs at hot idle.  Bought a new AC/Delco sending unit, so I'm gonna go out, warm the car up, attach a mechanical pressure gauge to get a true reading, then install the new oil pressure sending unit to see if it gives me a good reading.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Just finished swapping out the sending unit.  After driving the car and getting it up to operating temp, I pulled the old sending unit and installed the mechanical gauge.  At 900-1000 rpm, the mechanical gauge reads about 47 to to 50 psi.  When I rev it up to about 3000, it goes up to about 65 psi.

Then I installed the new sending unit and started it again.  The dash gauge reads around 50 psi at idle and also around 65 when I rev it up.  So, I guess I've got a better engine than I thought.  The old sending unit must have been bad.
