Lets Meet
« on: December 19, 2008, 07:57:47 am »
I'm going to plan a day to come down and bring parts, so if there's anything you need list it here and I'll bring it with me. We can meet somewhere and have a bite to eat. I've already got Scott's fender and Charlie's headlights and door light. I've got a GT fascia that I can bring down and auction off. Dewey a gas pedal. Anything else?

rob i had a whole reply typed out and the computor shot a message out that there had been a reply to your post and that i should look at it b/4 posting mine , i thought i had it on hold but i lost the gosh darn thing. gas peddle rubber or plastic? need "L" bracket for the plunger switch for the trunk light, the solenoid and switch and panel for the trunk release, thumb twisters for the trunk grills, a window crank for the formula, and if you've got any extra gauges for over the heater vents i'd like to know how much they might be.   thanks oldone in c'ville

Dewey, when you get that message, just scroll down and you can see the new post and all the old ones.  That way you don't have to change screens and lose your message.

Since the trunk light switch bracket on the 84 and 85 is spot welded on, it might be easier to install a trunk release that has the light switch on it.  I'm guessing this is for the Formula.  All 86 and later had the trunk release and light switch integrated into one.  Since the Formula was bare bones, you'd probably have to run a circuit from the front to the rear, however, I'd almost bet that the unused circuit is there.  You'd just have to snake the wire through the deck lid, to hook it up.  If it weren't for yours being a Formula, I have a notchie decklid with release, but it has a luggage rack on it.

rob-- it does have a little black plastic thing on the trunk lock mechanisem, are you saying this will work the release and the light? so all i would have to do is mount the release switch and install the light?    oldone in c'ville

That wire is for the trunk light switch.  You'd have to run another circuit for the release.  Pull the cover plate off the right side of the instrument panel where the release mounts, and see if there's an unused plug in there.  If there is, then the circuit is stubbed out in the engine bay.  All you'd need do is run the wire up through the ribbing of the deck lid to make a release work.

I have heard that *all* Fieros have the wiring for the trunk popper.
The plug for my Formula's switch was not right behind the panel. It was taped up in the harness, below the instrument panel. I had to remove the lower access panel, un-tape the socket, and work it up through the pod to where it needed to be.

Charlie I'm fine, I've just picked up a winter time cold. I've turned off my phone so I can get some sleep and try and get over this asap.
