Does it still die if you disconnect the TCC solenoid wire?

That would have no effect on it in Park or Neutral.  Only when placed in gear and he says it doesn't stall in gear.

I posted in the tech tips section about this. I've found a couple archived posting on Pennocks with this exact same issue and their resolution was to change out a sticky egr valve. That makes sense, i thought the exhaust and general oder around the engine smelled "hot".  When adjusting the tb, I thought that area felt really warm compared to the others I've worked on. I hope I'm right and it's as simple as the egr stuck open.

I posted this in the tech tips section, but realized it belongs here:
Looked at the Egr today, I pushed it up and down a few times and four out of five times, it didn't seat the same, the plunger shifted to one side or the other. I replaced it with a known working spare that I had laying around. The gasket is bad and I red copper sealed it. Its curing tonight and I'll try it tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully that will fix idle.
Things left to do:
Sort out the idle
2 cans seafoam, one for the tank, and one for Chinese water torture
Condition the vinyl and leather in the interior
Clean the glass
Clean the motor
Ron :)

The EGR may get too hot for the sealant you used. I needed EGR gaskets for my silver Formula, and the parts store had the one for between the EGR and the adapter, but not the one for between the adapter and the cross-over. So I cut one from some sheet aluminum I already had, and it is working quite well. You can get sheet aluminum at Ace Hardware, Lowes, or Home Depot.

If one is needed between the EGR and base, I can pull one from the Digital EGR Adapter Kits and replace it when I return home.  I've had no problem in obtaining them at Advance.

The repair worked, but I'll get and install the correct, new gasket tomorrow after work, along with resetting the ecm, iac, tb, Seafoam torture, and cleaning/detailing.

Georgia Fieros has been to Sno-Cap before.  We met the South Carolina Fiero Club there, back around 2004, I think.  Somewhere, I have a floppy disk full of pictures from the gathering.

Just an update:
Pgackerman and I replaced my egr gasket work around with a proper egr gasket. Then we reset the ecm, adjusted the tb to 30 steps iac and .49 volt tps. We went for a victory lap and herd a crazy sound, just once, and just for a couple seconds. Sounded like someone was on the hood of the car on a sit-n-spin. We stopped, looked at each other horrified and jumped out to investigate. We found nothing. Checked the fan, wheels, looked for dead cats and kids dragging under the car and nothing. Totally weird.
We decided it best to change the oil and filter, so tomorrow I'll do that. We cleaned Windows and the interior plastics. I'll put conditioner on the vinyl tomorrow and degrease the motor after the oil change.
Could one of you coming to Augusta bring a timing gun?  Mine's shot (harbor freight) and I'd feel much better checking it once more. There is a slight oscillation at idle and I'd feel better making sure timing is still set. I started to fiddle with it when my light went out.

I'll bring my light.

I am going to suggest that you look at the inside lips of the wheels to see if there are any signs of scraping.  When we removed the old stock wheels, the inside lip where the bead turns in toward the spokes of the rim were badly scraped.  I believe it was due to the lowering ball joints.  That shouldn't be a problem with the larger diameter wheels and the offset moved out.

Those changes would keep the top control arm at the same relative position to the rim because it's still attached to the spindle at the same position, but would drop the lower one closer to the tire and rim.

No signs of scraping inside the rims.

UPDATE:
All cleaning and conditioning is complete inside the car.
The oil and filter have been changed. Oil pressure now is normal (it was low before...kept setting off the light)
Motor is degreased

Things I'm saving for Friday and or Saturday are making the engine compartment shine, washing the exterior and setting timing

Ron, I can't find the engine detailer anywhere.  Online says it's back on the shelves at AutoZone, but not around these parts.  It's a Turtle Wax product and that's where 308 GTB got what I have.  He bought a case of it for showing his car at Caffeine and Octane Atlanta.

I guess the Gunk stuff will have to do.  Probably should be applied a day in advance if you can do it Friday.

I'll pick up the gunk stuff on my way home today from work. If it makes you feel any better, I didn't see any mention of silicates on the ingredients label at all.

I forgot to mention that yesterday, I did the Seafoam to the intake and WOW!, I left a contrail probably a mile long!  I had to drive it out of the neighborhood because I overheard a neighbor loudly comment "what's on fire?!" before he noticed it was coming out of the warrior car. It was a sight to behold!

Hello All,

Here are some photos from the Cars & Coffee handover: https://plus.google.com/photos/101244603559962497427/albums/6181486377161659953

My apologies for the delay in posting.  Immediately after leaving C&C I left for Indiana to see the in-laws. And I do mean immediately.

Thanks for a great experience.  Enjoy the photos.
