Well, almost.  There won't be any Gingers or Mary Anns, but more than likely a whole bunch of Gilligans.

Are you sure about that Skipper?

From what I can see of work that needs to be completed, the temp needle needs to be positioned for when the engine is cold, install tires and check for clearance, fix the wireing issue with the oil pressure sending unit, clean up the car and get it ready for paint. I will bring my low profile floor jack to get the car up. Of course, I will not be there till about 12 however, step-son Trey is there so anyone who get there before me can start on the car.

What's the solution to the wheels? Lower profile, or change the springs?

Gotta change the springs.  Otherwise the ride is too harsh.  New wheels won't fix the harshness... much.

Sad, 'cause I want those wheels.

Gotta change the springs.
...

I've got a complete set of stockers. I don't know how much they will change the height.
If it's a harsh ride, but nothing is rubbing, it might be riding on the bump stops. They can be shortened by at least an inch with no ill effects. (Well... other than the possibility of the tires rubbing.)

Sorry I missed the festivities. Didn't know if it was on, or not, in view of all the dire weather forecasts.
Aside from that, our washing machine threw up on its shoes, on Saturday morning. Try finding washing machine parts on Saturday. (I did get lucky. Cost me $16 instead of $5, though.)

It definitely had a set of dropped springs. Stock ride highth would be perfect with those big @ss wheels outs sitting on now.

I have a pair of low mileage stock 88 rear springs that I'll donate.  The car has Eibach springs all the way around.  Still nice and clean red paint job if anyone would like to buy them with funds going to the project.

What would be a good price for the springs?

It's my understanding that the car also has "dropped" ball joints. The stock springs will not return it to stock ride height, but will help. Should raise it about an inch, inch-point-five.

Yes, Mike said he "thought" it had lowering ball joints, but he wasn't positive about what he'd done.

Ron, the 88 springs won't fit an 85.

But they'll fit an 88 like mine and I wouldn't mind a more aggressive stance.

How much are we asking, or would it be an even swap?

I think Ron768, Raydar and PGAckerman should get together and bargain this out.  Those are the red Sport Line springs and go for about $250 when new.
