I got this word from Tim (308 GTB) about Don Keinlen.
Few of you knew that when Don was preparing to move back to Germany, he was developing Parkinson's Disease. He was definitely diagnosed either just before or just after the move. Apparently it has progressed somewhat rapidly.
This information from Tim. Prayers and thoughts for he, Anne and Shanine, if you're so inclinded.
Don is scheduled for surgery to implant a deep brain stimulus (DBS) device on August 8, followed by a "brain pacemaker" to power it on August 9.
A DBS device helps stimulate the areas of the brain that help synchronize nerve impulses and muscle coordination.
He will be in the hospital for about a week after the procedure, and then about another week of bed rest at home.
