Looking for a stock if possible low milage running 2.5l iron duke for my 1987 pontiac fiero current motor is modified but blew the head gasket.its not worth putting any more money into so looking for another motor.

There was a guy on Pennocks who dropped out a fairly low mileage 87 duke to do an upgrade.  I gave him Harolds contact info.  He said Harold never replied.

The alerts are nice, but sometimes don't come through for several days.  Sometimes, they come through before the icon changes, though, so I don't know what the issue is.  It doesn't really matter, because I'm on almost every day.

I always have to remember to hit the "Show unread posts", because sometimes posts on one thread are pushed down by later posts to another thread.

 Hey Mr. Weeks, is the effort to put in the Gasket not worth it? or could there be more damage/ warped head? I understand not wanting to fool with it but you said(modded) and wanting a stock engine seems like backing up when costs are equal. I may can help with a repair but sorry don't know of another engine.

At one point I could have put a new gasket but the car has been sitting for 5 months to a year. The engine seams to be hydo locked witch if it is what I think one the cylinders are filled with water .2 the newer bearings are probably ruined or pitted. The motor was modded when I bought the car it's been bored 60 over and saposidly has a high lift racing cam might be other things I just put new rings and bearings in it and drove it for six years .

Pull the plugs and spin it over a couple times No way the Bearings are damaged yet but it is possible with more time assuming there is no Oil on them Has the Oil Become Contaminated with water ?

Probably. the dipstick reads well over the limit. I'll have to buy a new battery.

OK I dig it, Pull that plug also and get  the water out. then just use about 3 qts. for throw away after you look at what comes out. you just don't want to leave it empty then start it and run for a min. or less or until it makes pressure or the light goes off , then shut it off. then drain water From Radiator and fix it. Or if you find another motor give it to the club or me and I will fix it.

That's an 85 engine.  It isn't designed for the DIS ignition system.
