Hazardous Chemical Spill
« on: September 21, 2018, 06:08:07 pm »
Just watching a news report of a hazardous chemical spill that's hospitalized several workers.  For those who have ever been to the last Whodeanie location in Canton, you might remember the chicken processing plant next door and it's smell.

Aerial footage shows a bloody stream and puddle running out of the plant.  HazMat was on the scene trying to neutralize the mess.

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Why would the chicken plant have hazardous chemicals?

For washing down equipment.  They also wash the prepared chickens in some pretty strong stuff before they're rinsed with water.  Probably to destroy fecal coliform that may come from perforated intestines and the like.  Whatever it was, it looked like a big trail and puddle of blood.

Really makes me miss home raised vhicken.  Store chicken does not taste as good, either.

I heard about the hazmat situation. Didn't realize that's where it was, however.
