Fiero blanket

Most of my parts pictures are taken on the washing machine lid.  I then remove the background (usually), so that people donxt have to look at a lid and controls.

Several other surfaces had been tried, but the texture was a problem.  Thus far, the washing machine has been the best option.  Unfortunately, this has its own problems.  Depending on exterior light, shadows can be more or less of a problem.  Also, taking pictures of white/silver/grey items, or of things with bags, is a problem.  Black is a problem.  I need to get better lighting.

In the meantime, I'm thinking of using some sort of blanket/sheet.  Ixd like something I can just throw over the washing machine (right height), and that will not take up much space, and will be easy to clean.

Any ideas?

I have several throw blankets.  I've used one of them in the past.  Spread it on the floor and took a picture.  I have a red, a green, and a brown one.  One side is smooth and the other is textured on each.  The EGR adapter kit was photoed on the green one.

I have tried colored blankets, but that caused a different issue.  I need a smooth texture.  Elsewhere, someone suggested painting the concrete floor blue, then adding lighting.  That would work, if I could get the picture, without me.  I throw shadows everywhere.

My daughter does a lot of photography and she bought a light box from Amazon. They come in a lot of different sizes.

 I like how some dealers use a unique color so you can recognize a seller you like easier.  The guy I get some of my 40 ford parts from uses a recognizable blue on all ads.

I have one of those Ralph mine is called a photo igloo.  It folds up and down and is domed like a tent.  I've never used it, gift of a friend who was moving.

Depends on how much light you use. A larger tent with light on the four sides produces the least shadows. I have been at a lot of product shoots. Food I’d the craziest.

If I want to take pictures of parts and not have shadows, I take them outside on a cloudy day, lay them on the driveway, and shoot them. Cloudy day diffused light works great.

The driveway makes a poor background, but yes, I have used the hood of my Fiero.
