High School Project Car
« on: August 15, 2021, 10:53:27 am »
We are in need of 2 good tires on rims for the purpose of towing the School Project Car from Marietta to Dallas, Ga.  Does anyone have a pair that we can borrow?

Also, I would like to do this on Saturday the 21st.  I need help.  Someone to change the tires and someone to help load it onto the tow dolly.  I have a come-along to winch it up onto the dolly.  Also, someone is needed to steer the car as it's towed out of the carport and back yard.

3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I have 4 14" Fiero wheels with good tires if they'll work.

We just need 2 to put on the rear for towing purposes, only.  The tires on the car will hold air but I don't want to tow it on tires that have been sitting on the dirt for 7 years.  The school will have to get replacement tires.  I'm sure they have some sponsors that can help.

OK, if you guys want to move the car, come get the tow dolly.  You will need a 2 inch ball.

The car is off Old Canton Hwy, Marietta,  and is going to the Dallas area.

Any progress with scheduling this car to be moved?

We can use my 88 rims and new tires for the move. I am also in the Dallas area now anyway. But my truck is in the shop being repaired from getting sideswiped by a semi last month so I can't tow it.

If there car can roll I can tow it with my trailer. I need this to be verified before I make the effort though. It is an hour drive for me to Marietta.

Ralph and I messaged about just getting a rollback to move it since it's so difficult to get everyone coordinated.  The school automotive class can receive it any time during the week and they're at the school until 6 PM on Tuesday and Thursday.  I don't know if he's arranged it or not.  He has the club debit card to pay for the tow.  Coordinating with the property owner may also be a factor.

I'm texting with the automotive class president at the moment.  He's asking for updates.

The car is near the intersection of Worley Drive and Ember Street in Marietta.  I think Ralph has the owner's contact info and the exact address.

I could easily tow the car as long as it rolls around. Just let me know if you need it.

The club secured a rollback wrecker yesterday afternoon and had the car delivered to the school.  Looks like they've already jumped into it.  They sent a picture of the class with the car inside their shop.  One headlight was raised, and it even looks like they may have washed off some of the dust that had settled on it during the last 7 years.
